What some consider an eyesore can actually become a highlight!

1. Garden in the ground around your window well. Add some short decorative gardening fencing around the outside of your window well to provide a beautiful border.
2. Don’t get a lot of sun on the side of your home where you have a window well? That’s okay. Try some shade-loving plants like hostas, bleeding hearts, Jerusalem sage, or Lily of the Valley. The beauty of these plants can draw your eye away from the window well.
3. Some customers use their window well space under their Window Bubble as a type of greenhouse allowing them to grow plants all year long. This works well for container gardening and works best if your inside basement window gives you easy access to water the plants.
4. Turn your window well space into an herb garden. Again, make sure your window well has an easy access window for clipping herbs for your dinner.
5. If your metal window well is an eyesore to you, replace it with some brick or stone. This is not a quick project, but might be worth it for a continuing landscape look if you are including the same brick or stone elsewhere.
6. Surround the window well area with raised garden beds. Since the window well already creates a multi-tiered look, continue the theme by adding garden beds of varying heights.
7. Surround the window well with small stones. If you want maintenance-free landscaping around your window well, add stones around the window well. This will also keep little critters away since mice won’t walk on uneven surfaces.
8. Plant bushes in the window well space if it has no cover. This seems like a good idea, but it can block the natural light from streaming into the basement.
9. Add some artificial plants to your window well space. If you don’t have a green thumb, but love the look of plants, add some artificial plants to your window well space. We won’t tell that they aren’t real!
