How to Turn Your Window Wells into Useful, Beautiful Spaces

Once you have installed your Window Bubble onto your window well, you have created a small space that you can take advantage of from the inside of your home. Over the years, our creative customers have come up with some clever ideas for their new-found space.

Here are some of our favorite beautiful spaces:

A place for a pet to take in the sun.

One customer shared with us that their cat loved to bathe in the shining sun streaming through the Window Bubble. The customer made the space cozy from the inside by adding a soft place for the cat to rest.

Fairy garden.

Build memories with your children or grandchildren by creating a fairy garden together. Supply sand, rocks, branches, leaves, pebbles, and bark to create little homes for potential fairies to stay when they happen to be flying by. For a more polished look, take a trip to a craft store and purchase miniature doll house pieces for the fairy garden.

Garden space.

The clear acrylic window cover allows in light and traps in the heat like a greenhouse. Plant some cactus or other succulents. Depending on the amount of sunlight, you could also use the space as an indoor herb garden. A window box or terra cotta pots may fit in the space easily depending on the shape and size of your window well.

A scenic view.

If you have metal window wells and you are tired of the industrial look of corrugated metal, try draping a fabric or plastic decorative cover over the metal from the inside of the well. A popular choice with our customers boasts a pattern that looks like stone or brick.

Lighten up.

If you want more light in your basement, you could add a reflective mirror. Adjust the mirror in such a way as to let the outside light to be reflected into your basement.
